The emphasis at Café 21 is on creating simple but imaginative dishes where there’s a respect for the ingredients. It’s a classic, bistro style of cookery with a true element of craft - and a few contemporary twists that add a little free spirit. But the ingredients - fresh, seasonal - rule the kitchen. No fancy tricks, no artful presentations, just good, honest flavour. Ultimately, it’s food to satisfy not titillate.

And it’s food that everyone can enjoy. We aim to make our restaurant democratic. You don’t have to spend a fortune with us but, if you want to eat at the foie gras end of the scale, that’s also fine. Eating at Café 21 is about enjoying food that we’ve enjoyed creating.
